How is the jewellery made? The jewellery is made using a selection of real sweets which have undergone testing to ensure their suitability on the items. Various varnishes and plastic coatings are used to coat the sweets to give them a hard, glossy, durable finish. After several weeks of drying and hardening they are ready to attach to the silver-plated jewellery components.
Is the jewellery edible? NO! This jewellery is not intended to be eaten. The finishes used preserve the sweets and make them inedible. All coatings comply with BS 5665, EN71 (Toy Safety) Regulations, and the products have been approved by Trading Standards. You should not suffer any ill effects should they be accidentally ingested (I have eaten 4 to see what would happen, and I was fine), But it is still not recommended!
Can I choose which sweets I want? Yes, you can specify which sweets you want, or leave the choice up to us to produce a good selection - its up to you. Some sweets are very popular (red gummy bears and hearts, so please limit your choice to one each of these per item. On some occasions we may not have certain sweets in stock, in which case a near alternative will be substituted.
How do I store the jewellery? The best way to store the jewellery is within the gift bag or gift box it arrived in. It should be stored out of direct sunlight which may fade colours if the sweets are exposed for long periods of time. Do not store the jewellery near any heat sources as this may disfigure the sweets.
What tips are there to help keep the jewellery looking at its best? Excessive handling or squeezing of the sweets should be avoided. The jewellery should also be kept out of very high temperatures which could soften the sweets. Animals and young children who may be tempted to have a lick or a bite should be kept away from the products as well!
What is the returns policy for SweetieDarling jewellery? We hope that you are very happy with the products you receive. Regrettably we can not offer refunds on items where the sweets have been personally chosen and where there is no damage, as these may be impossible to re-sell.
